Poor taste is a romantic revenge comedy about Lilly’s and Max’ first date, set at a lake. The initial good vibes between them change as they end up in a heated discussion about the role of prison, punishment and the police. Lilly is a strong believer of liberal conservatism while Max sees himself as a woke, liberal feminist.
Sometimes Lilly points out that there is something moving in the water, something that he disregards. And as they have scraped a bit on the surface of their politics, they realize that neither one of them are very interested in social change as they genuinely are more interested in their own wellbeing and to maintain current power hierarchies.They reconnect over their shared intersectional oppressive attitudes in a food-sex act that gets interrupted by zombie-Mermaid (A.K.A the queer proletariat) rising out of the water, executing them both.
